Alopecia areata

Alopecia areata also known as spot baldness.

It appears as 1 to 2 or more circular or oval bald spots that vary in size on the scalp as well as beard area. The cause is due to an immune disorder. Most times related to an acute or chronic stressful period. It also has a genetic association, occurring in people with history of family members affected similarly.

Most of the spots usually if left alone will regrow hair after several weeks or months. However some can worsen or become permanent. Best treatment that ensures quick resolution is steroid injections into the bald spots. Best to seek medical care as soon as possible for a good and quick remedy.
